I am the eldest of three girls from a small farming community in Illinois and grew up tending to the animals on my parent’s farm. From an early age, I fostered a love of caring and I feel I naturally gravitated to the field of nursing because of this experience.

In 1998, I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing.

Since then, I have primarily worked in the hospital setting in both pediatrics and postpartum care.

While working with new mothers and infants, I realized my true passion lies in assisting moms on their lactation journey and their transition to motherhood.

Having four children of my own, I have faced challenges both with breastfeeding and from an emotional aspect, stemming from different deliveries. I have the unique experience of having a vaginal birth with epidural, a home birth, an emergency cesarean section of a premature baby and a natural vaginal birth after c-section (VBAC).

I truly believe each one of us has a unique story and my goal as a lactation consultant is to help moms navigate their own, to find what works best for them. I am so fortunate to be part of this incredibly special and yet often uncertain time. I strive to be the person that moms will remember as a supportive and empowering advocate in their lives
